Three newcomers will be on the Dubuque City Council after Tuesday election. Veteran Council Member David Resnick was re-elected to an at-large seat over challenger Luke Schiltz. In Ward 2, Laura Roussell defeated incumbent Luis De Toro 896-741. In Ward 3, Danny Sprank was elected over Phil Atkinson 867 to 353, and in Ward 4, Brad Cavanaugh wins over Jay Schiesl 974 to 377.
For the Dubuque Community School Board, voters elected three incumbents and one newcomer in an uncontested race. Newcomer Kate Parks received the most votes — 5,227 — among four candidates who ran for the four at-large seats. Incumbent Mike Donohue received 5,195 votes, and incumbents Tami Ryan and Lisa Wittman were also re-elected.
