A Wauzeka man is facing multiple charges after officials say he attacked a woman on Wednesday evening. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office reports that 30-year-old Jesse Brooks has been charged with 1st-degree attempted intentional homicide, substantial domestic battery and bail jumping. According to the sheriff’s report, the unidentified victim was at a home in Wauzeka. She told deputies she locked herself, and three children – all under age 5 – in a bedroom. Brooks allegedly broke thru the locked door and threw the woman to the ground. The report states that Brooks tried to break the woman’s neck and threatened to kill her. During the altercation, the woman injured Brooks’ leg and ran from the home to get help. The woman had reportedly suffered facial and other injuries. Authorities arrested Brooks at a nearby hospital where he had gone for treatment on the injury to his leg. Deputies say Brooks was also cited with possession of THC and possession of drug paraphernalia.
