Woman Arrested For Swinging A Knife

A woman from Dubuque faces multiple charges after police said she swung a knife at another person before stabbing a door. 23 year old Lenisha Metcalf was arrested Thursday on charges of domestic assault while displaying or using a weapon, violation of a domestic abuse protective order, providing false information, interference with official acts, and public intoxication. Reports say Metcalf assaulted 26 year old Coshawndra Jenkins of Dubuque. According to a report, the incident began just before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday when Metcalf grabbed a knife and began to swing it in attempts to cut and stab Jenkins until Jenkins and another person fled to a bedroom. Metcalf then stabbed the bedroom door several times and threatened to stab Jenkins. Police eventually apprehended Metcalf. While in handcuffs, Metcalf continually tried to pull away from officers and spit in the direction of officers.
