Maquoketa Fatal Crash

Maquoketa Police are continuing to investigate a fatal crash from Tuesday evening. Authorities say 53-year-old Sheri Snyder was driving on South Main Street in Maquoketa around 5:15. According to reports, her brakes failed and she swerved to avoid hitting another vehicle – but instead struck a limestone planter box. A passenger in her vehicle, 77-year-old Terry Hansen of DeWitt was taken to a hospital where he died. Snyder and another passenger – 63-year-old Robert Hayton of DeWitt – were also taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
