A Clinton man faces multiple charges after leading authorities on a high speed chase in Dubuque County on Tuesday. The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office says 38-year-old Nathan Cross was arrested on charges of eluding, theft of a motor vehicle, theft of license plates, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating while intoxicated. Law enforcement officials were called around 1:30 to Dick’s Sporting Goods for reports of a theft. Cross saw police and sped away west on Highway 20. Authorities pursued him with speeds reaching 110 miles per hour. Officers were able to deflate the tires on Cross’ vehicle by using stop sticks near Farley and then took him into custody. Additional charges are likely.
