Person Struck By Train In Prairie du Chien

A female is dead after being hit by a train Sunday night in Prairie du Chien. A report from the Prairie du Chien Police Department confirmed that a pedestrian was struck and killed near the railroad crossing at East Blackhawk Avenue. Authorities were called shortly after 8:30 for reports of a person hit by a southbound train. Upon investigation, officers discovered the deceased person. Police say multiple crossings were blocked in the city for roughly 5 hours. Officials have not released the name of the female.
