Man Pleads Guilty To Sex Crimes With Delaware County Girls

A man recently pleaded guilty to sexual crimes against two Delaware County girls younger than 13. 32 year old Michael Mesch of Lamont entered the pleas in Iowa District Court of Delaware County for charges of attempted enticement of a minor, indecent contact with a child and intent to commit sexual abuse. If the plea deal is accepted, Mesch faces up to 12 years in prison and will have to register for 10 years as a sex offender. Reports say that Mesch sexually abused a girl younger than 13 at her Delaware County residence in March. A few days later, authorities were notified of conversations between Mesch and a different Delaware County girl. Documents state that Mesch sent the girl Facebook messages, including one that said he knew he was too old but they should have sex once and not tell anyone. Mesch’s sentencing hearing has been set for Nov. 16.
