Dubuque Police say a pedestrian was seriously injured when he was struck by a vehicle Friday afternoon in Dubuque. 55 year old Muhammad Khan of Dubuque, was taken by ambulance to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. According to police, a collision occurred at about 5 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Asbury Road and Cherry Street. Police say a vehicle driven by 22 year old Spencer Cross of Dubuque was stopped at the stop sign on Cherry Street when Khan began to walk across Asbury during a break in traffic. Cross’s vehicle turned left onto Asbury and struck Khan, who was thrown backward and struck his head on the concrete. Cross was cited with failure to yield to a pedestrian in an intersection.
