Icy Roads Lead To Multiple Crashes Saturday

Dubuque Police say one person was hurt in crashes involving seven vehicles on an icy stretch of roadway Saturday morning. 52 year old Toni Belhaj of Hazel Green was taken by ambulance to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.  According to a Dubuque police report, the crash occurred at about 6:45am Saturday on U.S. Highway 61/151 just east of the area of Admiral Sheehy Drive. Police said vehicles driven by Belhaj; 47 year old Craig Schiller of Monticello, Wisconsin; 41 year old Lisa Farber of East Dubuque; 17 year old Cody Haynes of Benton; 57 year old Debra Droessler of Cuba City; and 58 year old Lynn Bode–Yeazle of Darlington, and a semi-tractor trailer operated by 50 year old Leendert Geustyn of Denver, Colorado were traveling south on the highway when they lost control on the ice-covered roadway.
