The Archdiocese of Dubuque has named a new superintendent of Catholic schools. Cathy Walz, of Marion, Iowa, will take over the role in July from Kim Hermsen, who has taken on a new position as the archdiocesan director of pastoral planning and leadership development. Walz currently serves as the archdiocesan associate superintendent of Catholic schools, a title she has held for two years. Walz has been working in archdiocesan Catholic schools for 22 years.
