East Dubuque Changes Cannabis Dispensary Ordinance

East Dubuque’s city council has voted to change the ordinance around cannabis dispensaries in the city that limits them from being within 15,000 feet of another.  The council agreed by majority vote to change the ordinance down to 5,000 feet. This change will allow more dispensaries within the city limits, where right now they were limited to one. Over the past fews months officials say multiple cannabis companies have reached out about building stores in the East Dubuque area. One is considering building on Highway 20 while another is looking at a downtown location.
