Authorities say a Dubuque man was arrested with more than 2 pounds of suspected cannabis after a traffic stop in Jo Daviess County. 44 year old Latornce Smith of Dubuque was arrested Wednesday in rural Stockton on a charge of unlawful possession of cannabis, a class–3 felony in Illinois, and a warrant charging failure to appear in court from Stephenson County. According to the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, a passenger, 54 year old James Harris of Dubuque, was also arrested on a warrant charging failure to appear in court in Jo Daviess County. Smith was driving a vehicle that was stopped for speeding outside Stockton. While Smith and Harris were taken into custody, deputies found three small plastic bags containing suspected cannabis on Smith’s person and found three large bags in the vehicle containing over 1,000 grams of suspected cannabis.
