A man has been sentenced to 150 days in jail for fracturing a deputy’s finger during a struggle at Dubuque County Jail. 39 year old Damien Hunt was sentenced in Iowa District Court of Dubuque County after pleading guilty to a charge of interference with official acts resulting in serious injury. Hunt will receive credit for jail time already served. A report says that a struggle occurred at the jail on December 25th and Hunt took a fighting stance and clenched his fists when deputies asked him to change out of his clothes and into a smock before being placed in a holding cell. Three Dubuque County Sheriff’s Department deputies struggled to subdue Hunt. Deputy James Patterson was treated at MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center for a fractured finger following the incident.Â
