Wahlert Catholic School Principal To Retire

A longtime Holy Family Catholic Schools educator and administrator will retire at the end of the 2023-2024 school year. Doug Varley, who currently is associate principal and dean of students at Wahlert Catholic High School, will retire after 38 years in the field of education and 30 years with Holy Family, according to a press release. The release states that prior to his current role at Wahlert, Varley served as principal and assistant principal at Mazzuchelli Catholic Middle School for a total of 17 years. Prior to holding those positions, Varley spent 11 years teaching English and coaching at Wahlert, where he led the boys’ track and field team to two state runner-up finishes.
