Gov. Tony Evers signed a bill on Tuesday aimed at making roads safer. The bill broadens Wisconsin’s “move over” legislation, now requiring people to slow down or change lanes when passing disabled vehicles that are within 12 feet of a road. The law also requires drivers to change lanes or slow down near emergency or roadside service vehicles on a road in cases when a vehicle is flashing its warning or hazard lights, emergency flares have been placed, or one or more people are attending to a vehicle. AAA reported that Wisconsin is now the 30th state that requires drivers to move over for disabled vehicles.
