One person dead in Grant County construction accident

One person is dead following a workplace accident in Grant County. Friday morning the Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a construction accident on Cty Q in Castle Rock Township. A construction crew was at a property to repair a roof on a farm building when a member of the crew fell through the roof, approximately 30 feet, and landed on the concrete floor below. Immediate medical aid was rendered by the co-workers and further life saving measures were provided once Highland EMS and State Patrol arrived on scene. As a result of the injures sustained in the fall, the 44-year-old man was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Grant County Coroners Office. The name of the victim is being withheld at this time, pending notification of family. This matter remains under investigation.
