Kenny Loggins has shared the unexpected movie moment that helped shape the title of his 1991 album Leap of Faith.
During a September 2026 conversation at the Grammy Museum tied to his documentary Kenny Loggins: Conviction of the Heart, the singer explained that the title came from a scene in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. In the film, Indiana Jones must step forward onto what appears to be empty space before discovering a hidden path.
Loggins said the image connected with what he was experiencing in his own career at the time. He believed his future with Columbia Records was uncertain and approached the album as though it could be his final chance with the label.
That pressure encouraged him to write in a more personal and reflective way. Leap of Faith arrived during a major period of change in his life, including the aftermath of his divorce.
