Five Applicants For City of Cascade Administrator

The City of Cascade has received five applications for the city’s permanent city administrator role. While the previous plan was to choose three of the applicants to interview based on rankings from City Council members, the council recently decided to interview all five applicants instead. The names of the applicants have not been released. Chris Ball, of Wilton is serving as Cascade’s interim city administrator following the departure of Deanna McCusker, who left to become the city administrator in Washington, Iowa. Mayor Steve Knepper said the person hired to fill the position permanently should have administrative experience and plan to stay in Cascade long term. Efforts are underway to schedule the interviews, with plans for the interviews to be carried out by council members, as well as staff from other departments that work closely with the city administrator.
