At a special meeting Wednesday night, the Dubuque city council appointed interim Chief of Police Jeremy Jensen to the Chief of Police role officially in a unanimous vote. Jensen took over as interim chief, following former chief of police Mark Dalsing’s retirement in September. Jensen has more thirty years of law enforcement experience, twenty eight of that in the Dubuque Police Department. He started in 1994 as a patrolman, and served throughout the department until becoming assistant police chief in 2018.
